Old Town Spring

We went to Old Town Spring for the first time last weekend and absolutely loved it! Even though we only went to a handful of shops (we managed to go on the hottest day yet this summer), my favorite so far is The Painted Pig. They sell these amazing candles that are larger than a softball and smell so good you just want to eat the wax. They sell for $25 each (yikes, right?), but it was worth every penny. I have the lemon custard scented one out right now and here's a hint... even though they burn for a long time, I only burn mine for about 15-20 minutes, then blow it out, and the house smells great all day. I was also stoked to find a beautiful headboard for my guest room there and it was reasonably priced!! Usually when you find furniture in these kinds of shops, the price tag makes your heart pause for a few dollar signs, but this store is not out for your pocket book. The owners are really sweet and down to earth, as are most of the shop owners we ran into.

When you go out there, make sure to stop and eat at Wunsche Bros. Cafe (One-She). We ordered the fried zucchini as a starter and it was the BEST I have ever had! They bring out a basket-full!! It isn't listed on the menu, but I was told you can also request fried pickles. I'll have to try them next time we go.

That's all for my first entry... until next time.
